The second Peruvian record of the genus Chaeteessa Burmeister and the first of the species Chaeteessa nigromarginata Salazar 2004 are reported.
In the Entomological Collection of the Faculty of Sciences of the National University San Antonio Abad of Cusco, Peru, a specimen of Chaeteessa nigromarginata was identified; this species was described on the basis of a female specimen from Caldas, Colombia.
